The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have unveiled their player numbers for the 2014 Toyota AFL Premiership season.
All new recruits will wear numbers that became available following the departures of players to other clubs.
Star recruit Heath Shaw will part with jumper 39 he wore at Collingwood and wear number 23 for the GIANTS, the same number his father Ray wore for Collingwood from 1974 to 1981. Defender Tim Mohr remains in number 39.
Ex-Swans players Shane Mumford and Jed Lamb will wear 41 and 11 respectively, the same numbers they wore at their former club. These numbers were available following the departures of Josh Growden and Taylor Adams.
Dual Geelong premiership defender Josh Hunt will wear number 32 for the GIANTS and former Western Bulldog Dylan Addison will don number 46.
Number one draft pick Tom Boyd will wear number 13 in his debut season while number two pick Josh Kelly will pull on jumper 22.
Fellow draftees Cam McCarthy will wear 25, Rory Lobb has been handed 37 and Jake Barrett 43.
Zac Williams is the only GIANTS player from last season to change numbers, switching from 51 to 29, which became available due to the departure of Dom Tyson.
Head Coach Leon Cameron congratulated the players on receiving their first numbers with the GIANTS.
"It's a great moment to pull on the club jumper for the first time especially for first year players and I'm sure they will wear the orange and charcoal jumper of the GIANTS with tremendous pride," he said.
Chief Executive David Matthews also congratulated the players on behalf of the club.
"It's a special moment to get your first AFL jumper with a number on it. As we have said, we'd love to think that one day soon players names will also appear on the backs of jumpers," he said.
"This would be a great initiative and help promote the players and build their followings particularly with young players."
The GIANTS season begins against the Swans in the Battle of the Bridge at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 15.
