The long wait for the GIANTS Academy is almost over with the next generation set to showcase their skills at an upcoming Northern Academy Series next month.
Teams representing the GIANTS, the Swans, Brisbane and Gold Coast Academies as well as the Northern Territory will play across three dates in August in both New South Wales and Queensland.
The AFL and AFL NT are currently working through options for the Northern Territory Thunder side and their involvement in the competition in 2020.
In preparing to host the fixture, AFL NSW/ACT and AFL Queensland will continue to monitor State and Local Government restrictions and will be guided by State and Local health authorities regarding competition play in NSW and QLD.
AFL NSW/ACT will continue to support all Under-18 players for the remainder of the year and are committed to ensuring opportunities will exist in 2021 for players who have been impacted by the disruptions to 2020 competition.
AFL NSW/ACT and AFL Queensland are also currently working towards an opportunity for female players ahead of the NAB AFL Women’s draft later this year.
