Sam Reid looks set to return to the field this weekend after overcoming a minor hamstring injury.
Reid missed a week after hurting his hamstring in the GIANTS’ win over the Western Bulldogs in round six.
After sitting out round seven, the former rookie - who has played five games in 2017 - will be available for selection for the GIANTS’ clash with Collingwood on Saturday afternoon at Spotless Stadium.
There were two new injuries to come out of the GIANTS’ loss to St Kilda last weekend with Adam Kennedy’s season over after rupturing his ACL in the first quarter of Friday night’s game.
The popular defender will have surgery on Tuesday next week before beginning his rehabilitation for the 2018 season.
Second-year midfielder Jacob Hopper also broke his finger during the round seven match. While he played out the game, the injury required surgery in Sydney on Saturday and Hopper will be sidelined for six weeks.
