They attended the AFL Players Association induction camp in Melbourne, a two-day camp designed to educate them about life in the AFL.
One aspect of the camp focuses on the potential pitfalls for players now that they are in the public eye.
Football Welfare Manager at the GIANTS, Craig Lambert, joined the players at the camp and was very impressed by the messages presented.
"The (AFL)PA do a great job. The AFL went through all of the illicit drug issues and it's a really good two days. It is really important that our players understand how important their responsibility to the game is." Lambert said.
One player who took a lot from the camp was Lachie Plowman who reflected on the presentation made by former AFL and NFL player Ben Graham.
"He (Ben) was talking about the different lifestyle and how determined they are because they can be cut from a list in a day. He just said you¹ve got to take the opportunity and make the most of it." Plowman said.
With the camp over, most players were keen to get back to Sydney and into training so they can press for selection in the first NAB Cup game at Blacktown on February 24.
