The GIANTS have named a 26-man squad mixed with youth and experience for Sunday’s Opening Round clash with the Collingwood Magpies at ENGIE Stadium.

The extended squad is spearheaded by skipper Toby Greene alongside vice-captains Josh Kelly and Stephen Coniglio.

Ruck Kieren Briggs has been named after missing last week’s AAMI Community Series clash with Carlton due to illness, while Darcy Jones, Conor Stone, and Lachlan Keeffe are amongst a host of GIANTS named in what would be their first Opening Round clash.

Also included in Sunday’s squad is a trio of untried youngsters, with Cody Angove, James Leake, and Ollie Hannaford all pushing for an AFL debut against the Pies.

As confirmed on Tuesday, Jesse Hogan (thumb), Jake Stringer (hamstring), and Tom Green (calf) will all miss through injury.

The GIANTS will name their final team of 23 on Friday at 5pm.

The GIANTS and the Pies will get under way at 3:20pm at ENGIE Stadium on Sunday.
