Another eight of Greater Western Sydney's young stars have committed to the GIANTS until the end of 2015.

Jeremy Cameron, Toby Greene, Stephen Coniglio, Adam Treloar, Devon Smith, Jacob Townsend, Tim Mohr and Tim Golds have all agreed to contract extensions that will keep them at the GIANTS for the next three years.

They join Dylan Shiel, Tomas Bugg, Adam Kennedy, Adam Tomlinson and Matthew Buntine who announced in May that they had also re-signed until the end of 2015.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the club was delighted to have already secured several young players beyond the end of 2013 when their current agreements expire.

“This is a tremendous show of faith in the GIANTS and will help set the club up for long term, on-field success,” Matthews said.

“As a club we have invested heavily in the welfare of our young players through Breakfast Point and our player welfare managerCraig Lambert and his wife Mel. Later this year we will open our new training centre at Sydney Olympic Park which will offer state of the art facilities for our players and give them the very best opportunity of achieving ultimate success.”

Seven of those players who have recommitted to the GIANTS - Cameron, Greene, Coniglio, Treloar, Smith, Shiel and Bugg -have all been nominated for this year’s NAB AFL Rising Star Award.

Jeremy Cameron has kicked 29 goals from 16 matches in his debut year while Toby Greene has averaged more than 27 possessions in his 18 games (see full bios for all players attached). They are among 36 GIANTS players to make their AFL debut in 2012.

Earlier this week the GIANTS announced that Kevin Sheedy had been re-appointed Head Coach for 2013 ahead of the club’s final match at Skoda Stadium against North Melbourne this Saturday.

“These announcements give us not only stability but a real sense of optimism and excitement as we head into 2013 and what will be an important year for the GIANTS as we continue to build this club on and off the field,” Matthews said.

“This year we signed up more than 10,000 members, opened our new home ground at Skoda Stadium and had our first two wins in Sydney and Canberra. We have shown that we play a brand of tough, competitive football and received great support from the people of Greater Western Sydney, the ACT and indeed across Australia.

“We can’t wait for 2013 to start and encourage all our supporters to get on board and recommit like our coach and players have done for what should be another exciting year ahead.”
