Greater Western Sydney GIANTS young gun Dom Tyson said that the playing group was looking forward to going in hard for their final game of the 2012 season at SKODA Stadium on Saturday.
Tyson spoke exclusively to GIANTS TV from the club’s main training session today, saying that the young guns were looking forward to their final opportunity to prove themselves after a successful first year.
“It was good to get out here again on SKODA Stadium… every time that we’ve trained here it’s been a great surface,” Tyson said.
“There’s definitely a lot to play for. It will show us how much we’ve improved during the year because we played them in Round 2 and here we are in Round 23.
“We look at it like we’ve got 120 minutes of footy left and we’ve just got to go out and give it our all.
Tyson thanked the GIANTS fans for their support in the club’s first season and encouraged all fans to head to the final match of the year on Saturday afternoon.
“We love playing out here at SKODA on a Saturday afternoon and it feels good when you play. If we can start winning more games than we lose here and the crowd gets behind us then we’ll be a pretty good side in years to come here.”
The number three draft pick said that his first year in the AFL competition had flown by and he was looking forward to a solid pre season campaign after a number of injury set backs in 2012.
“It’s gone really quickly. It seems like yesterday that we were drafted up here and we were running up the sand dunes at Cronulla,” he said.
“I’ve had a few injury setbacks this year and haven’t been able to string a lot of football together but right now the body is feeling good so I’m looking forward to finish off this week then heading in to a big pre season.”
