The Kwila Gulf GIANTS are the latest GIANTS club to taste success with the under 18s taking out the Papua New Guinea premiership in Port Moresby.

The Kwila Gulf GIANTS won the Grand Final in their debut season, defeating the SP Defence Hawks 6.4.39 to 5.5.35.

President Alan Bejigi who once played football in Papua New Guinea started the club after seeing the value the sport brought to the community and the young men of the region.

The team travelled to Port Moresby in a convey of buses and trucks and camped at a settlement on the outskirts of town ahead of the Grand Final, before defeating the Hawks by four points.

The Grand Final was attended by AFL Commissioner Sam Mostyn and AFL International Manager Tony Woods, along with many GIANTS fans who travelled from the Gulf to support their team.

Apart from the Kwila Gulf GIANTS, the GIANTS have formed alliances with international clubs all over the world including the South East London GIANTS, the North Leinster GIANTS (Ireland), the Zaprude GIANTS (Croatia) and the Skane GIANTS (Sweden).
