Two of the GIANTS' young stars Devon Smith and Adam Treloar will play their 50th game against Carlton at Spotless Stadium this Sunday.

But the pair is more concerned with winning than personal milestones.

“It’s another game I suppose but it is a bit of an acknowledgment,” Smith said.

“I didn’t really think about it until this week. I’m pretty happy to share it with Adam and hopefully get a win.”

Treloar added: “It’s more important about the win and Carlton are in really good form so we look forward to the challenge.

“Like Devon said, it’s a great acknowledgement and hopefully we can come away with the four points.

“It would be nice to win two games in a row and especially here at home because the fans really get behind us.”

Sunday will be the first time Carlton have faced the GIANTS at their home ground and the GIANTS will be aiming for two wins in a row for the first time in their history.

Treloar said Sunday’s game will be a tough challenge with the 16th-placed GIANTS coming up against the 12th-placed Blues, but one the whole side is looking forward to.

"They're a great team," Treloar said. "The likes of Judd, (Marc) Murphy, (Bryce) Gibbs, you can reel them off.

"It's going to be a great challenge for us mids and it's one we look forward to because they score a lot from centre bounces.

"It's something we'll try to stop and try to make sure we score ourselves.”

Jonathan Giles was the first GIANT to reach the 50-game milestone against West Coast in Round 8, with both Callan Ward and Tom Scully also reaching the mark in the past few weeks.

But Treloar and Smith are the first of the younger group of players that formed the bulk of the GIANTS’ first-ever list in 2012 to make 50 games.

“Devon and I have been here for three years and we’re really sort of trying to establish ourselves as leaders here,” Treloar said.

“50 games, I think that might be the third-highest for a GIANT so we’re sort of veterans of the club.”

Smith said he was happy to be considered a leader of the young club.

“We’re leaders now so we feel a bit more confident in that and even if you’re not confident you have to act confident around the younger boys so you can lead by example,” he said.

But the pair aren’t stopping at the 50-game milestone.

“Hopefully we can play heaps more than that,” Treloar said.
