The GIANTS’ nominations for the AFLW MVP Awards have been revealed, with Rebecca Beeson, Alyce Parker and Isabel Huntington the club’s three nominees for the AFL Players’ Association Most Valuable Player Award.

Announced at an award ceremony in Melbourne on Tuesday night, the AFLW Players' MVP Awards will also recognise the Most Courageous, Best Captain, and Best First-Year Player.

Voted on by the AFLW playing group, Beeson, Parker, and Huntington are the GIANTS’ three nominees for the AFLW MVP Award after brilliant individual seasons.

Beeson’s nomination comes just weeks after capping off her fantastic debut season as captain with the 2024 Gabrielle Trainor Medal.

Named captain ahead of the season, Beeson took her game to another level in 2024 as the star midfielder showed her class and toughness to become just the club’s second ever multiple AFLW club champion.

Parker – a record-holding four-time GIANTS AFLW club champion – also had another brilliant season in 2024, with the 24-year-old continuing to cement herself as one of the league’s best inside midfielders with averages of 24.6 disposals, 5.8 clearances, and 5.7 tackles per game.

Huntington’s nomination comes after she put forward her best season in orange and charcoal as she transitioned from the forward line to becoming the competition’s best intercept defender.

Possessing arguably the best hands in the league, Huntington finished first across the entire competition for intercept marks (3.2 per game), while also finishing fourth in contested marks (1.3) and fifth in total marks per game (4.7).

Meanwhile Beeson has also been nominated for the AFL Players’ Best Captain Award, while young gun Kaitlyn Srhoj has been nominated for Best First Year Player.

Reliable defender Pepa Randall is also up for an award after a strong season in defence, having been nominated for the Most Courageous Player Award.

All award winners will be announced at Tuesday night’s AFLW Players’ MVP Awards event.
