Rory Lobb used to be the butt of family pranks but these days no one messes with the 206 centimetre GIANT.
Lobb, who celebrates his 21st birthday today, said he was often at the mercy of his siblings as a child.
“I’m the youngest in the family so I was picked on a fair bit, but it was all good fun,” Lobb said.
“They could get away with it back then when I was smaller but since I’ve grown no one really seems to mess with me any more.
“I don’t really remember that coat-hanger picture being taken but knowing me I was probably playing up so dad or my siblings probably stuck me up there.”
Lobb, who was drafted from Swan Districts, was selected by the GIANTS with pick 29 of the 2013 NAB AFL draft.
With the GIANTS' first intra-club match taking place on Wednesday and the Battle of the Bridge just 34 days away, Lobb said his birthday celebrations will be quite subdued.
“I haven’t got any plans yet because we’re starting to come into games so looks like I might just stay at home and have a quiet one or go out for a dinner,” he said.
‘Before they were GIANTS’ is a series of stories that showcase the lives of GIANTS players before they became professional footballers.
