GIANTS Chairman, Tony Shepherd AO, has welcomed the appointment of former leading Australian investment banker Robin Bishop to the AFL Commission.
Mr Bishop, the former Head of Macquarie Capital Australia and New Zealand, was appointed to the AFL Commission to fill the position vacated by outgoing Chairman Mike Fitzpatrick.
Mr Shepherd said the game would benefit from Mr Bishop’s investment and financial experience.
“On behalf of the GIANTS I want to congratulate Robin on his appointment to the AFL Commission,” Mr Shepherd said.
“I commend the AFL Commission on Robin’s appointment, he brings a significant level of investment experience to the Commission and the game more broadly.
“I’ve known Robin for many years, he’s an individual of great acumen and integrity, as well as being a passionate and knowledgeable Australian football person.
“The GIANTS look forward to working with Robin as we continue to grow the club and the code in New South Wales and the ACT.”
