The GIANTS will take on the Melbourne Demons in their first-ever AFL Women’s final on Saturday afternoon at GIANTS Stadium.
While the GIANTS were meant to play Geelong in a double-header at GIANTS Stadium, COVID-19 measures have seen the AFL bring forward the AFLW finals series and forgo the final two rounds of the home and away season.
In a fixture revealed by the AFL on Thursday, the GIANTS will play the Demons in a Semi-Final on Saturday at 2:40pm.
The GIANTS, who were sitting in second place on the Conference A ladder, have had their most successful season to date with a win-loss record of 4-2, while Melbourne, who finished third in Conference B, have the same win-loss record but boast a superior percentage to the GIANTS.
The two teams haven’t met since round five, 2019 when the Demons recorded a 39-point-win over the GIANTS at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Unfortunately, due to the Federal Government’s COVID-19 measures, fans will be unable to attend the game at GIANTS Stadium, however they will be able to watch a live broadcast of the match via the Seven Network and Fox Footy.
