Alyce Parker’s impressive performance in the wet against Gold Coast in round one has seen the young gun earn a few accolades.
The 19-year-old was everywhere in the GIANTS’ nail-biting one point win at Blacktown, racking up 22 touches in tough conditions.
Parker was named in the womens.afl Team of the Week for her efforts and was recognised by both coaches on the day, receiving seven votes in the AFLW Coaches Association AFLW champion player of the year.
Parker’s mentor Alicia Eva received six votes for her 17-disposal game, while Rebecca Privitelli was recognised for her outstanding efforts up forward with three votes.
The returning GIANT was in fine touch, racking up 14 disposals and taking a game-high six marks despite the slippery conditions.
Privitelli’s massive pack mark in the opening quarter also saw her nominated for the AFL Women’s Mark of the Year for round one. GIANTS members and fans can vote for Privitelli’s mark by searching ‘AFLW Vote’ on Google before voting closes at 4pm AEDT Wednesday. Fans can vote once per day in each category.
