The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS trained at Blundstone Arena today ahead of the club’s Round 2 clash with the Kangaroos in Hobart tomorrow.
Head Coach Kevin Sheedy said that the week’s break between Rounds 1 and 2 was beneficial for his young squad, who are well rested and reinvigorated by the return of a number of senior players from injury.
“I think that we really needed that week off.

“We have a couple of players with a bit more experience in the team with Luke Power and Tom Scully. Having a couple of senior boys come in excites and ignites the team again.”
Sheedy said that he was impressed by the facilities at Blundstone and that his young side was looking to build a reputation as tough, hard competitors in the AFL competition.
“I’d like to thank Tasmania and Hobart for preparing this ground, it looks fantastic. It’s great to have more games in Tasmania.
“We need to go out and make sure that we are a good tough footy team.
“That is how you earn respect from opposition and supporters, by being tough.”
