The GIANTS have broken their all-time membership record in their third year in the AFL, reaching 13,002 members.
After reaching 10,241 members in their inaugural year in 2012 and 12,702 members last year, the club has passed 13,000 members for the first time ever.
Chief Executive David Matthews said it was another significant milestone for the club after its first back to back wins. The GIANTS will play the Swans in Sydney Derby VI this Saturday night at the SCG.
“In just a short period of time we have developed a loyal and committed supporter base as these growing membership figures prove,” Matthews said.
“I want to thank all our fans and especially our members who’ve got behind the club. We value their support and they will always come first.
“We want to build a great club like no other. A club that delivers great family entertainment and embraces our fans and their communities and is open and accessible.
Matthews said the GIANTS were averaging crowds of just under 10,000 at Spotless Stadium this year, including a record 17,102 for the club’s historic win over the Swans in round one.
“Again, for a club that’s been in the competition for just over two years and is operating in very competitive markets in Western Sydney and Canberra, we are encouraged by these numbers and confident they will continue to grow,” he said.
The GIANTS have four more home games this year including matches against Adelaide, Geelong and Collingwood at Spotless Stadium and North Melbourne at StarTrack Oval Canberra.
It’s not too late to get on board with the GIANTS and sign up for a three-match membership starting at just $75 for adults, $50 for concessions and $25 for juniors.
