Everyone knows GIANTS players are talented footballers but how much do you really know about their lives off the field? Read these Fast Five facts about midfielder Jake Barrett
The Simple Life – I’m a farm boy at heart, even though I didn’t grow up on one. As kids we spent a lot of time at my Nan and Pop’s farm which was my favourite place to visit. Wouldn’t mind my own piece of land one day.
Barefoot Bandit – Back in the day I loved to go barefoot water-skiing in the Riverina but unfortunately it’s a bit too risky these days.
Mummy and Sons – My favourite band is Mumford and Sons. I’ve never been to one of their concerts but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Their first album is the best and my favourite song is Babel.
Grossed by Gum – The absolute worst thing in the world is touching chewing gum that has been in someone else’s mouth. I hate when people put gum underneath tables or chairs. Not cool.
Strong Blood Lines – I used to play Rugby League until I was about 17 and made the switch to Aussie Rules. I’m actually second cousins with Trent Barrett and first cousins with Luke Breust who plays for Hawthorn.
This regular series of player stories aims to bring GIANTS fans closer to their heroes by giving a snap-shot into their private lives.
