The 2015 Kevin Sheedy Medal will now be held at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, September 12.
The event was originally scheduled to be on Sunday, September 20 at the Ivy Ballroom. After finalising plans for the event, the club were advised that arrangements surrounding the NEAFL finals have changed.
With the original date no longer guaranteeing the attendance of the club’s NEAFL players, should they qualify for the Grand Final, a decision was made to change the date and venue.
It’s one of the main events on the GIANTS’ calendar and there will be plenty of intrigue when it comes to crowning the Club Champion for this season.
The night will kick off with extended canapés and pre-dinner drinks at 6.30pm before all the action of the Medal count from 7.30pm.
Co-captain Callan Ward is the inaugural winner of the Kevin Sheedy Medal in 2012 and could be in line for his second Club Champion award in just four seasons.
After a breakout season which included 62 goals and All Australia selection, young GIANT Jeremy Cameron claimed the 2013 title. Sitting second in the Coleman Medal this season, could the star forward add to his collection?
Last year’s count saw recruit and first-year GIANT Shane Mumford take home his first Club Champion Award and the hulking ruckman was in blistering form before an injury in round 11 curtailed his season.
Young midfield star Dylan Shiel had an awesome start to the year before injury affected him too while vice-captain Heath Shaw has had perhaps his best season to date and is well in All Australian contention.
Don’t miss out on the Medal count plus a whole host of other awards presented on the evening to cap off what has been the GIANTS’ best season yet.
The event will be streamed live on gwsgiants.com.au with further details to come.
