Background: Joel Patfull played 182 games for Brisbane before being traded to the GIANTS at the end of the 2014 season.

Best Game: AFL Round 5 v West Coast - 22 touches, 7 marks, 6 one-percenters.

Summary: With a wealth of experience, Joel Patfull brought a sense of calm and structure to the GIANTS’ young backline this season. Patfull played most of the season, but missed five matches after suffering a nasty punctured lung and broken ribs after coping some friendly fire from Matt Buntine in Round 11. He returned to play five more matches at the back end of the season and played on key opposition forwards in the absence of cp-captain Phil Davis. Unfortunately on a post-season trip to Bali Patfull was involved in a minor scooter accident which saw him fracture his clavicle. He flew home after the incident and will continue his rehabilitation over the coming weeks.

Pat On The Back: Patfull helped mentor his younger teammates like Aidan Corr and Caleb Marchbank in the backline.

What They Said: “It’s disappointing for this incident to happen on the first day of his trip but Joel’s ok and he’ll be right for the start of the season,” GIANTS Coach Leon Cameron.

Look Ahead: It's expected Patfull won't miss too much of pre-season with his fractured clavicle and will continue to mentor the young defenders at the club both on and off the field.
