The GIANTS have made two changes to their AFLW starting 21 to face Melbourne at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday.
Forward Britt Perry will play her second game of the year while ruck Erin McKinnon returns from illness.
Perry, a quick utility from South Australia, made her debut in the GIANTS’ round two loss to the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos at Drummoyne Oval.
GIANTS coach Alan McConnell said the 24-year-old’s skills will boost the GIANTS as they look for their second win in a row.
“Hopefully she’ll influence the game with her ability to get her hands on the ball,” he said.
“She’ll add to the skill level of the group.”
While the GIANTS are up and about following a nine-point win over Collingwood in Morwell last weekend, they know they face stiff opposition in the Demons on Sunday.
McConnell is especially wary of the Demons, who are coming off the back of a four-point loss to the Kangaroos.
“They’re in good form, there’s a lot on the line in this game,” McConnell said.
“They got beaten last week but they are in pretty good form, they’ve got some clear strengths around stoppage and in the contest.
“They’re dangerous when they can get the ball into their forward line in a hurry.”
Ingrid Nielsen and Maddy Collier have both been omitted, but Nielsen – who impressed on debut playing in the ruck last week – has been named as an emergency alongside midfielder Jodie Hicks.
