The WSU GIANTS' successful NEAFL season hasn't gone unnoticed with two players making the competition's team of the year.
GIANTS ruckman Matthew Flynn also took home a trophy from Sunday night's awards ceremony, claiming the NEAFL's 2016 Mark of the Year.
Sam Ried was named in the left forward pocket for the team of the year, while young defender Harry Himmelberg was named at centre half-back.
For Himmelberg, who made his AFL debut in Round 17, it caps off a season of hard work.
The 20-year-old arrived at the GIANTS as a key forward but shifted to the backline during the preseason.
"You don't play for accolades but I worked really hard this season after going down back," Himmelberg said.
"It's an honour and good to be recognised, it's pretty humbling."
Reid's inclusion in the side caps off a remarkable season and adds to his remarkable footballing story.
The 26-year-old returned to the GIANT’S playing list via the 2016 Rookie Draft after retiring from the AFL at the end of 2013.
Reid has since played six AFL games this season for the GIANTS after making a long-awaited comeback in the Round 12 Sydney Derby win.
"I've got a lot of admiration for what he's been through and the way Sam's bounced back," Himmelberg said.
"It's a massive reward for him to be recognised as one of the NEAFL's best players."
Meantime Flynn - who attended the ceremony alongside GIANTS NEAFL coach Brad Miller and Reid - was surprised to win the award for the competition's best mark.
Flynn's mark in the WSU GIANTS' Round 12 clash with the Canberra Demons at Robertson Oval in Wagga Wagga was voted for by fans as the best of the season.
"I didn't really know what I was there for, I hadn't had the best season," Flynn said.
"I was down back, the ball was there so I had a jump at it and was lucky to have Jack Steele as a stepladder.
"He should be happy to be a part of that... if the prize was a car I would have given him half of it."
Steele had the last laugh as he polled the highest number of votes for the WSU GIANTS in the NEAFL MVP, which was won by Apsley's Matthew Payne (87 Votes).
Steele tied with Sydney's Nic Newman in tenth position with 51 votes.
The WSU GIANTS NEAFL season isn’t over yet.
They will face the winner of the Sydney University Vs. Gold Coast Suns Reserves elimination final in a home semi-final on Saturday, September 3.
