SUMMARY

St Kilda is coming off a brave three-point loss to Hawthorn and should be buoyed by their performance. However, Greater Western Sydney pose a formidable challenge.

The GIANTS have a powerful midfield and showed as much in an 86-point thumping of Port Adelaide last Sunday, dominating centre clearances 20-10 and inside 50s 75-41. Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel and Toby Greene were the most prolific disposal winners in that game but the GIANTS have plenty of others who can dominate.

Even more worrying for the Saints, star forward Jeremy Cameron is set to return from suspension. The GIANTS' run out of defence, led by Heath Shaw and Nathan Wilson, is always dangerous. St Kilda's forwards will need to apply the same intense pressure it did against Hawthorn to cause an upset.

THE SIX POINTS

1. Despite losing the last time these teams played, the Saints had more disposals and marks, as well as 10 more inside 50s. Jeremy Cameron was the difference, kicking five goals.

2. St Kilda has been accurate in front of goals this season, kicking 51 goals and 33 behinds at 56.7 per cent. In contrast, the GIANTS continue to struggle in this area with 55 goals and 56 behinds at 47.8 per cent.

3. The GIANTS will play their first game at Etihad Stadium in 2016. They won two of their four games at the ground last season. In total, GWS has played 11 matches for three wins at the venue.

4. One area the GIANTS have struggled at in 2016 is tackling. They are ranked 16th with 59.5 per game. The Saints are ranked sixth, averaging 69.5 per game.

5. In four clashes against GWS, Riewoldt has kicked 10 goals in four games. For the Giants, Jeremy Cameron has booted 11 goals in four games.

6. St Kilda is ranked second for average disposals per game with 410. It is third for uncontested possessions. The GIANTS are fifth for disposals per game.

IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR … Jeremy Cameron.

GWS is 2-2 with its star forward yet to play this season after serving a suspension for a high bump on Brisbane Lion Rhys Mathieson. The GIANTS would likely have a better record if Cameron had been available in the first four weeks, and the 2013 All-Australian would want to make amends with a bag of goals.

PREDICTION: GWS by 14 points
