Young GIANTS midfielder Aiden Bonar will join North Melbourne in search of more opportunities at senior level.
The GIANTS struck a trade with the Kangaroos on the final day of the Telstra AFL Trade Period with the club receiving a future third-round pick and sending Bonar and a future fourth-round pick (tied to Melbourne) to Arden St.
GIANTS List Manager Jason McCartney wished Bonar well at his new club.“I thank Aiden for his dedication and commitment to the GIANTS over his two years here,” McCartney said.
“We value Aiden’s contribution on and off the field but understand his desire for more regular midfield opportunities in the immediate future.
“We wish Aiden only the best at the ‘Roos.”
The 20-year-old arrived at the GIANTS at pick 11 in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft and has played six games over the past two seasons.The GIANTS currently hold picks 6, 40, 59, 60, 80 and 94 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.
