GIANTS star Toby Greene is relishing his longest run of games since 2016 as the GIANTS look to build their biggest winning streak of the season.
After being limited to just nine matches in 2018 and just one of their first five in this campaign, Greene has now played seven in a row in the same season for the first time in three years.
Restored to the midfield over the past four games after injuries to Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly, 2017 All-Australian half forward Greene has averaged 31 touches a match in that period.
Asked whether he was enjoying his time back in the midfield Greene told AAP, "'I'm just enjoying playing footy to be honest.
"It's just been great to get some continuity and it's a lot more fun than sitting on the sidelines."
With Kelly and Matt de Boer both in contention to return from injury for Friday's match with Hawthorn in Canberra, GIANTS coach Leon Cameron has foreshadowed Greene shuffling between midfield and forward once some of the team's on-ball specialists are back.
Saturday's hard fought two-point home victory over local rivals Sydney was the GIANTS' third victory in succession, equalling their best streak of the season.
It follows a one-point away win over Port Adelaide.
"It just shows we can stand up no matter what, in those big moments there were some big plays," Greene said.
He pinpointed a number of areas in which GIANTS needed to improve.
"Probably a bit of ball control and knowing when to go fast and slow," Greene said
"But it's a continual process and we're doing a lot of work on it.
"But I think all those areas like contest and effort are going really well.
"We're happy with where we're going but we've got a lot to work on."
GIANTS have won both home and away games in a single season against the Swans for the first time and have equalled their best streak of three consecutive victories over their derby rivals.
"They were definitely a lot better than us in the early years, but we've been able to turn it around the last couple of years," Greene said.
