The GIANTS have received good news on a calf injury suffered by Adam Tomlinson during Wednesday's opening training session of the year.
Tomlinson was leading the GIANTS' quickest group of runners in the team's 2km time trial when he was forced to pull out with less than half a lap remaining, which allowed off-season recruit Tommy Sheridan to take line honours.

Despite the scare, scans have revealed only a minor strain in the 25-year-old's right calf.
Tomlinson has played 24 games in each of the past two seasons to be a model of consistency for coach Leon Cameron, with his versatility allowing him to be used mainly as a key defender in 2017, and on the wing last season.
The Victorian's outstanding athletic ability and imposing physique makes him a tough match-up for opposition wingmen, and with Tom Scully out injured last year, Tomlinson's most consistent season saw him finish seventh in the club champion award.
The GIANTS expect Tomlinson to be back to full training by the end of January, so he should be ready for the club's opening JLT Community Series clash with the Swans at Blacktown on Saturday, March 2.
