What’s in store for 2013:
After being selected with pick number 3 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, Lachie Plowman has been impressive on the training track throughout the pre-season.
With two NAB Cup games and a practice match under his belt, the emerging defender will be knocking on the door of the selection panel to make his AFL debut early in the 2013 season.
What the coach had to say:
Brett Hand, Development Coach
"We want to see our first year players adjust to the rigours and demands of AFL life. The younger players need to get used to training seven days a week and looking after their bodies.
"For us, it's important that they can play as many games as they can. That will be determined by our sports science department but hopefully they're fit, firing and playing some good footy to get some spots in the ones.
"Lachie has been a dour defender throughout the pre-season. He's strong and tough and listens and adapts to everything that you tell him.
"He's got a lot to learn about the game but his football smarts are good so we're looking forward to seeing some big things from him."
What Plowman had to say:
"In 2013 I want to play my first senior AFL game then hopefully cement my spot in the team.
"I'd like to improve my kicking efficiency to over 75%"
