The GIANTS are proud to unveil their Pride Jumper for the 2024 AFLW season.

The special jumper is the GIANTS’ fourth Pride Jumper, as the club and the AFLW celebrate the competition-wide Pride Round across round seven.

Proudly designed by GIANTS vice-captain Katherine Smith, this year’s Pride Jumper is inspired by the themes of all-embracing, confidence, togetherness, inclusivity, and love, all of which are printed on the outside of the neckline on the back of the jumper.

The embroidered themes are key components of the GIANTS’ culture and values and were chosen to be featured on the jumper by Smith, along with teammates Tarni Evans and Emily Pease who are both great allies of the rainbow community.

The jumper also features the GIANTS’ iconic "G" outlined by colours of the Pride flag, while the shoulders of the jumper features the Trans + Non-Binary BBI PoC flag to show support to the entire rainbow community.

Furthermore, the GIANTS’ 2024 Pride Jumper incorporates the club’s popular “Never Surrender” charcoal jumper as a representation of the rainbow community never giving up.

The GIANTS will unveil their 2024 Pride Jumper in Sunday’s home twilight clash with the Crows in a Pride Round celebration at Henson Park.

“Pride Ride is my favourite round so I’m super excited,” Smith said upon designing her first ever Pride Jumper.

“I was super pumped after seeing it for the first time and to see the girls’ reactions was incredible.

“We had a great reveal with Pepa [Randall] dancing in it and the girls absolutely loved it.”

Smith said it was important to represent both the GIANTS’ playing group and the Pride Community in this year's design.

“I think it really represents the group, the Pride community and our footy club, and I’m super proud of it and can’t wait to wear it on Sunday,” she said.

“All the Pride colours are represented so that no matter where you sit in the Pride community you can see yourself in it.

“It was really important that we use the “Never Surrender’ strip for us as it represents the Pride community never surrendering and to continue to never surrender for equality and acceptance and respect.

“I think it’s [designing the jumper] something I’ll walk away from my career being super proud of and it something that is so small but can have such a big impact and I’m super proud and can’t wait to run out in it.”

Celebrating the inclusiveness of football, the league-wide Pride Round started on Tuesday, October 8 and runs until this Sunday when the GIANTS take on the Crows.
