A Life Member of the GIANTS, Kennedy joined the club ahead of its debut season in 2012 and quickly became a fan favourite and a heart and soul player for the club due to his tough and selfless nature and his love and care for his teammates.

A hard-running utility that could play across all three lines, Kennedy leaves behind a legacy as one of the most loved and respected players in the club’s history.

A member of the club’s 2019 Grand Final team, Kennedy’s career was one of perseverance and resilience, with the 32-year-old overcoming two separate knee reconstructions and a shoulder reconstruction across his 13-year career.

Kennedy’s last appearance at AFL level came in round six of the 2023 season where he was dealt another cruel blow after rupturing his ACL for a second time.

After a lengthy rehab, Kennedy returned to the field via the VFL in season 2024 but was unable to add to his tally of 153 AFL games.

GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, acknowledged this significant impact Kennedy had on the club.

“Adam should be extremely proud of what he’s been able to achieve over the past 13 years and we congratulate him on a wonderful career,” McCartney said.

“Adam is an inaugural player and a Life Member of the club and his contribution on and off the field for the GIANTS since the club’s inception is to be admired.

“We were fortunate enough to watch him grow from a teenager into the man he is today, and we wish Adam all the best for the next chapter in his life.”
