A host of GIANTS will face fitness tests ahead of the GIANTS’ clash with Fremantle at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio is in line to play his first game since round 18 after completing full contact training last week.
The star midfielder will train fully again this week and is expected to return for the finals shaping clash on Saturday.
Also expected to return is ruck Kieren Briggs, who missed last week’s win over the Lions after being managed.
Youngster Toby McMullin, a late out for the Brisbane clash, will also look to prove his fitness at Thursday’s main training after managing groin soreness across recent weeks.
Draftee Phoenix Gothard, who missed last week’s VFL clash with a calf complaint, will also need to pass a fitness test at training on Thursday while Jacob Wehr - who came off in the VFL’s loss to the Lions after a heavy collision – is a test as well.
Wehr was sent to hospital as a precaution following the match in Brisbane but was given the all-clear and returned home to Sydney on Monday morning.
The GIANTS take on the Dockers at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday at 1:45pm while the VFL play Williamstown in Melbourne on Saturday.
