Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio, small forward Zac Langdon and key defender Aidan Corr will put their hands up to take on the Demons while live-wire half-back Zac Williams is in doubt for Sunday’s MCG clash.

The club is waiting on the results of a scan on Williams’ hamstring that saw him miss the second half of the GIANTS’ big win over Carlton on Sunday.

“We’ve had some scans but we haven’t got them back yet … we’ll know more over the next 24 hours,” GIANTS General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said.

“It doesn’t seem like it’s a bad hamstring so we’ll just have to wait to get the scans back and then we’ll make a diagnosis from there but he’d have to be in a little bit of doubt this weekend.” 

Coniglio could return as early as Sunday after succumbing to a finger injury he has carried since round six and missing last week’s game 

“It’s significantly better after obviously not getting it bashed around on the weekend which he had the previous two weeks,” Campbell said.

“He’s a tough, young man and fought through pretty valiantly but it got to the stage where we thought a weekend off might help him. 

“It certainly helped him but if he trains this week I think he’s some sort of chance for sure.”

Langdon faces a fitness test after being unable to complete training last week and missing the round nine clash.

The small forward returned in round eight before feeling soreness in his foot during training last week. 

“He’s probably a test as the week goes on, we’re only early in the week,” Campbell said. 

“He started the main session last Thursday and didn’t quite get through it but he’s not far off. 

“It would need to improve this week but at this stage he’s certainly a chance.”

Meanwhile, Corr looks set to return after a fortnight out with an ankle injury.

“He’s pretty likely I think,” Campbell said.

“He trained fully last week in our main session but we thought we’d just give him a week off but at this stage he’s a fair chance to play.” 

The GIANTS take on Melbourne at the MCG at 1:10pm on Sunday.
