The GIANTS have added five names to their 26-man squad set to travel to Alice Springs to take on Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park on Sunday afternoon.

Defender Nick Haynes has been cleared to take his spot in the line-up following a minor ankle injury that caused him to be subbed out of the GIANTS’ big win over Fremantle in round 14.

Forward Jesse Hogan also returns to the side after being a late withdrawal from the Dockers triumph with calf soreness, with the contested marking machine kicking 24 goals so far this season.

Potential inclusions for the trip to the red centre include dashing defender Isaac Cumming, young wingmen Ryan Angwin and Josh Fahey and ruck Matt Flynn.

Cumming returned from a calf injury via the VFL just prior to the bye with the emerging star collecting 29 disposals.

After playing eight games in a row from round six, Angwin started as the sub in the Dockers win, coming on late in the final quarter.

Fahey played three games after his debut – including two as the sub - before dropping back to the VFL where he picked up 23 touches in his last outing.

Flynn also impressed in the VFL with 27 disposals, 14 hit-outs and a goal.

Out of the side is defender Lachie Whitfield, who will miss this week’s match with suspension.

The final team will be named at 5pm on Friday. The GIANTS take on Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park on Sunday at 3:20pm.
