Greater Western Sydney GIANTS midfielder Dom Tyson has been nominated as a finalist in Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year competition.

The 19-year-old is one of only three AFL players to make the top 50, joining Sydney’s Nick Smith and Brisbane’s Brent Staker.

Tyson played 10 games for the GIANTS in 2012 and earned a NAB rising star nomination for round 23. After an injury interrupted pre-season, he’s set to make his return to football in the coming weeks.

The number three pick in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft underwent knee surgery after a training mishap in December but managed to fit in a photo shoot for Cleo magazine around his rehabilitation as part of the Bachelor of the Year contest.

During his rehab, he has also filmed a regular segment called “Tyson’s Pocket Profiles” for GIANTS TV in between studying for his commerce degree.

If Tyson wins he’ll join former winners such as radio-host Andy Lee, celebrity chef Hayden Quinn and movie star Eric Bana as being crowned Australia’s most eligible bachelor.
