The GIANTS have made three changes for the trip west to take on the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Sunday’s match will see Adam Kennedy celebrate 150 AFL games and 150 games as a GIANT with the foundation GIANT recalled to the team after being named as the sub in round one.

The 30-year-old has so far played 149 games in the orange and charcoal since joining the GIANTS as an undrafted 19-year-old ahead of the club’s inaugural season in 2012.

One of six remaining foundation players, Kennedy becomes just the seventh foundation player to reach the milestone for the GIANTS.  

Versatile second-year Cooper Hamilton will play his first game of the season, while first-round pick Harry Rowston has been confirmed to debut.

Harry Rowston to Debut

The GIANTS announce Harry Rowston to make his debut against West Coast. We join as he calls his parents to deliver the exciting news.

19-year-old Hamilton can play half-back and wing and played four games in 2022 after making his debut in round seven last season.

18-year-old Academy graduate Rowston will play his first game after being selected by the GIANTS with pick 16 in the most recent NAB AFL Draft.

Rowston - from a farm in Griffith in southern NSW - starred for the Allies in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and is known for his tough, contested football. He has great footy nous and versatility with the ability to play both through the midfield and forward. 

Rowston has been in the GIANTS Academy since he was a kid and called it a “dream come true” to play for his home club.

Josh Kelly and Lachie Whitfield were ruled out of this week’s match due to the AFL's concussion protocols, while Harry Perryman has been sidelined after suffering a hamstring strain in the GIANTS’ win over the Crows last weekend.

The GIANTS take on the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday at 3:20pm WST/6:20pm EDT.
