Brent Daniels will make his long-awaited return when the GIANTS take on the Adelaide Crows at GIANTS Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After 590 days on the sidelines, Daniels is confirmed to return and take his spot in the forward line against the Crows.
Superstar forward Toby Greene will lead the side out as sole captain for the first time with vice-captains Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly named to take up their usual roles in the midfield.
It will be Adam Kingsley’s first game in charge, with the new coach excited by the prospect to lead the GIANTS for the first time.
“It's building up,” Kingsley said.
“We’re starting to get pretty excited. We finished our last training session, I’ve just walked out of selection so we've got our team picked and it’s really ramping up now.”
Kingsley said it was great to see Daniels return to the side after such a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
“Yeah, it's certainly great,” he said. “I'm really, really pleased for him.
“He's done it hard over the last 18 months. He got through training without any issues today. He looks great and I'm really looking forward to watching him go about his work on Sunday.”
A new era of the GIANTS starts on Sunday with Kingsley encouraging all GIANTS members and fans to be at GIANTS Stadium.
“We ticked over 25,000 members today and ticket sales are going really well,” Kingsley said.
“We're hoping to get as many people out to the ground as we possibly can.
“We think we're going to be pretty fun to watch and hopefully it turns out that way and we get a good win.”
