GIANTS co-captains Phil Davis and Callan Ward have joined stars Tom Scully and Adam Tomlinson in a new campaign aimed at curbing our state’s horrific road toll.
The GIANTS are proud to partner with Transport for NSW in the fight against driver fatigue.
While the quartet have been busy preparing for Sunday’s Sydney Derby X, they’ve recently taken some time out from their training schedule to demonstrate how tiredness affects your game.
The partnership highlights the dangers of driving tired and the importance of drivers being able to assess their own level of fatigue.
GIANTS CEO David Matthews said given fatigue is the second biggest killer on NSW roads; behind only speeding, the Don’t Trust Your Tired Self campaign was an important one for the team to get behind.
“Some people think driver fatigue is only an issue on country roads but around half of fatigue related crashes happen in urban areas,” Matthews said.
“Whether it’s a short drive home after a tough match or a longer trip away over a weekend, it’s important to stop and assess whether it’s safe for you to get behind the wheel.”
The GIANTS will support this message throughout the season and encourage everyone to test their tired selves at http://testyourtiredself.com.au/
