Before Sunday’s massive Sydney Derby X, check out some of the key stats which could influence the game between the GIANTS and the Swans.

The Swans are sitting pretty near the top of the AFL ladder, in second place with nine wins and two losses for the season so far.

So it’s no surprise they’re also leading the way in some key statistics across the League.

The Swans are the number one ranked side for inside 50s averaging 59.5 per game, while the GIANTS are equal sixth with an average of 55.7.

They’re also one of the strongest defensive sides in the AFL, first for shots against per inside 50, number one for marks against per inside 50 and number one for goals against per inside 50.

Up forward, Lance Franklin is leading the Coleman Medal with 41 goals for the year. Franklin has kicked a whopping 25 per cent of the Swans’ goals for 2016.

The Swans are also number one for kicks to one-on-one contests, repeat entries and for creating turnovers, which shows their pressure around the ball.

They’re number two for hard ball get differentials and number two for contested ball differentials.

In the middle, the GIANTS take the advantage as the number one clearance side after 11 weeks averaging 40.4 per game and fourth in centre clearances. In contrast the Swans are 15th for centre clearances.

Overall the Swans are sixth in attack, second in defence and have the best percentage. The GIANTS are second in attack, sixth in defence and have third-best percentage.

The GIANTS take on the Swans in their 100th AFL match and Sydney Derby X at Spotless Stadium on Sunday at 4.40pm. There are limited standing room tickets remaining, click here for more.
