GIANTS Membership Manager Chris Mintern said that the club was thrilled with the volume of memberships that have been sold as new members sign up alongside those renewing their memberships.

“Last year we launched in mid to late November, so we’ve made them available to the public earlier this year,” Mintern said.

“We’ve now got well over 2,000 members already in the space of just over three weeks.

“Out of those members around 15 percent of people are new members which is great to see.”

Mintern said that one of the biggest reasons that people gave for renewing their 2012 memberships was the quality and family friendly atmosphere of GIANTS home ground at SKODA Stadium.

“Our team has been chatting with members when they call through to sign up and one of the biggest factors, especially in Sydney seems to be the Stadium.

“People love the accessibility, the variety of food and the seats at the Stadium.

“At Manuka, our members have really embraced us because we had our first win down there and they know that we’re there for the long haul,” Mintern said.

New GIANTS member Brian Woolmer said that he signed on for 2013 after attending games at SKODA Stadium with his son.

“I’ve enjoyed going to games this year, my son is a member and is also playing AFL,” Woolmer said.

“We went to the first game at SKODA Stadium, my son Jack’s name is up on the Foundation Members wall there which was a bit of a thrill.

“I like SKODA Stadium, it’s a family atmosphere there and a smaller stadium which I really enjoyed.

“It’s been great to see the development of the team.”
