The Australia Indian Friendship Fair will join with the AFL’s Multicultural Festival in Cathy Freeman Park as part of the celebrations of the 2016 Toyota AFL Multicultural Round.
United Indian Associations Inc. is a not-for-profit, premier umbrella organisation of 26 associations in New South Wales. These 26 organisations have diverse backgrounds and represent different parts of India. It is the oldest and strongest umbrella organisation representing people of Indian origin having been established in 1994.
UIA promotes a harmonious relationship amongst Australian citizens, Indian migrants, and the society in general through social interaction, sports, recreation, and many other voluntary activities. One event in which this sense of community is created is the Australia India Friendship Fair.
This year the Australia Indian Friendship Fair will join with the AFL’s Multicultural Festival. The festival is this Saturday, July 9 from 11am-7pm in Cathy Freeman Park located in Sydney Olympic Park. As part of the festival there will be a celebration of Indian culture with fun, music, dance and food.
Through the Australia India Friendship Fair, the UIA reaches out to more than 100,000 people every year through advertisement, media releases and via media partners.
The uniqueness of this year’s fair is that the people of all communities will be participating via partnering with the AFL and the GIANTS in celebrating multiculturalism and friendship. The expected crowd for the fair is more than 10,000.
The fair supports the local artists, local sports and local businesses and aims to have a positive impact on many people at large. It is a great opportunity for communities to gather and celebrate the multiculturalism.
