An outstanding footballer in her own right, Alicia Eva joined the GIANTS' coaching staff in 2019 as a development coach working with the NEAFL side and the GIANTS Academy.
A recipient of the 2019 AFL Coaches Association and Lucky Chicken Eggs Coaching Pathway Scholarship, Eva has an extensive coaching career.
At 18 she was appointed head coach of the East Malvern Youth Girls team before taking on the role as Calder Cannons’ Under-16 head coach in 2011.
By 2012 Eva had become a development coach with the Under-18s program. In 2017 Eva led the Cannons to the inaugural TAC Cup Girls premiership and in 2018 guided the likes of Alyce Parker as head coach of the NSW/ACT Youth Girls team.
After joining the GIANTS as a player from Collingwood in 2018, Eva captained the club for five seasons before announcing at the conclusion of the 2023 season that she was stepping down from the role.
The fierce midfielder has twice been named in the All-Australian squad, making the final team in 2018, the same season she took out the Gabrielle Trainor Medal as the GIANTS’ club champion.
