Selected with pick 17 in the 2023 AFL Draft, Leake is an exceptionally versatile player capable of contributing across all three lines. Hailing from Tasmania, Leake shone for the Tassie Devils in the Coates Talent League during 2023. In 2022, at just 16 years old, he won a premiership with Launceston FC in the Tasmanian State League. A standout junior in 2023, Leake was named an under 18 All-Australian after the Allies’ championship victory. His versatility was evident throughout the season, playing both forward and back with equal impact. Notably, he earned an All-Australian selection for his performance in the Allies’ defence, before shifting back to the forward line for Tasmania, where he kicked 15 goals in the final five games. Leake was unable to break through for his debut in 2024 after an injury interrupted start to his career but was able to put together a dominant run of VFL form in the back half of the year to show just why the GIANTS were thrilled to secure him in the 2023 draft.
