Selected with pick 18 in the 2024 AFL Draft, Hannaford is a versatile footballer capable of playing on all three lines. Hannaford particularly starred as a dynamic forward for the GWV Rebels late in the 2024 season to be named in the Coates Talent League Team of the Year. Showcasing his talents ahead of the ball, Hannaford kicked five goals against the Oakleigh Chargers in round 18 and then a bag of six in the qualifying final against the Geelong Falcons. He also represented Vic Country in three matches at the National Championships. A dynamic athlete, his speed (2.95 seconds in the 20m sprint) and agility (7.92 seconds in the agility test) were both ranked in the top bracket at the State Draft Combine in Melbourne. While performing strongly for the club’s VFL side when healthy in 2025, the talented teenager had a tough run with injury in his first season in orange and charcoal and will be hoping a clean bill of health can position him for a potential AFL debut in 2026.
