Emerging as one of the competition’s most exciting small forwards, Jones burst onto the scene with a brilliant debut in 2024 as he played 14 games to take out the club’s Rising Star Award. He was also recognised by the league with an AFL Telstra Rising Star nomination in round 17 for a starring performance in a win over Carlton. Drafted by the club with pick 21 in the 2022 Draft, Jones’ AFL debut was put on hold for 12 months after rupturing his ACL early in the 2023 season. Finally fit and firing after overcoming his knee injury, the West Australian made his long-awaited AFL debut in round seven, 2024 where he dazzled with his speed and agility to quickly become a fan favourite across the league. Dubbed ‘the kid with the lid’ due to playing in an eye-catching orange and charcoal helmet, Jones’ lightning speed and strong finish around goals makes him a dangerous weapon in attack and have quickly turned him into a cult figure. Jones will remain a GIANT until at least the end of the 2026 season after the club signed him to a two-year contract extension before he had even played a senior game.
