Selected with pick 34 in the 2022 AFL Draft, McMullin is an explosive 183cm athlete who turned heads at the 2022 Draft Combine. He clocked the second-fastest 20m sprint time (2.88 seconds) and finished in the top 10 for both the agility test and the running vertical jump. McMullin made his AFL debut in round 22, 2023, against Port Adelaide, playing three games in total in his first season and impressing with his high-pressure and energetic forward play. In 2024 he continued to emerge as a promising player for the future after playing 14 games and demonstrating his versatility by taking on a variety of roles, particularly throughout the midfield and ahead of the ball. A Melbourne local, McMullin comes from a proud footballing background—with his father, Ian having played for both Essendon and Collingwood in the 1980s and 1990s before serving on the Collingwood Board from 1998 to 2018.
