One of the premier midfielders in the competition, Green is a contested beast who leads the way in the middle for the GIANTS. Finishing fifth in in the 2024 Brownlow Medal, Green is a ball magnet whose clean hands and composure in traffic are huge weapons. A product of the GIANTS Academy, Green was born in Townsville but raised in Canberra. Selected with pick 10 in the 2019 AFL Draft, the big-bodied midfielder played six games in his debut season and claimed the GIANTS' Rising Star Award by the end of his second year. After a standout 2022, where he finished in the top three in the Kevin Sheedy Medal, Green took his game to another level with a breakout 2023 campaign. Elevated to the GIANTS' leadership group, Green led the AFL in both average disposals per game (32) and average contested possessions (14.95). His dominant season earned him a spot in the All-Australian squad for the first time, as well as a tie for runner-up in the Kevin Sheedy Medal. Green continued his stellar form with an outstanding 2024 season to once again finish runner-up in the Kevin Sheedy Medal as well as finishing second in the AFL for total disposals. Green also tied for the GIANTS’ Best Finals Player Award last year along with Jack Buckley and Jesse Hogan. Green signed a new contract in 2023 to remain a GIANT until at least the end of the 2027 season.
