One of the competition’s top emerging ruckmen, Briggs is a former GIANTS Academy product who became the club's second-ever Western Sydney selection when he was picked up at number 34 in the 2018 AFL Draft. Much like his GIANTS ruck coach Shane Mumford, Briggs is a super physical ruckman who likes to make his imposing figure felt by the opposition. After four years at the club, Briggs’ breakout season came in 2023 when he seized an opportunity in round 10 and went on to play the remaining 17 games of the season, playing a key role in helping the GIANTS reach a preliminary final. Briggs finished the 2023 season leading all ruckmen across the AFL in clearances per game, while also ranking third for tackles and sixth for possessions. Briggs continued to establish himself as one of the best emerging ruckmen in the competition across his 2024 campaign. Briggs is currently contracted until the end of the 2026 season.
