Star forward and stand-in captain Toby Greene has had his two-match ban downgraded to one week by the tribunal on Tuesday night.
Greene was initially charged with striking and offered a two-match suspension by the Match Review Officer following a collision with Patrick Dangerfield on Friday night.
The incident was graded as careless conduct, high contact and high impact.
The tribunal decided the conduct was careless but that the impact was medium. This equates to a one-week suspension.
GIANTS General Manager of Football Jason McCartney said:
“We believe we presented a strong case. Pleasingly it was acknowledged that the impact was only medium but we are still disappointed in the overall assessment tonight.
“We have the avenue to appeal so we will consider aspects of the judgement.”
The GIANTS take on Richmond in round 22.
