The GIANTS' VFL team to take on the Brisbane Lions on Sunday afternoon on the Gold Coast has been announced.

The GIANTS have named Jeremy Finlayson at full forward after he was omitted from the AFL team, with Matt de Boer, Kieren Briggs and Jake Stein (quarantine) all unavailable for selection.

The GIANTS have eight listed players as well as the five Academy players currently travelling and training with the team in Queensland.

With the VFL fixture a week-by-week proposition, the GIANTS have worked with the Swans to allow their listed players to act as top-ups for the GIANTS.

The Swans side has a bye this week but some of their players will top-up for the GIANTS instead of missing another weekend of football - in place of the club using their usual Academy players out of ACT and southern NSW.

Included in the squad are Logan McDonald, Dylan Stephens, Braeden Campbell, Ryan Clarke Sam Gray, Lewis Melican, Kaiden Brand, Will Gould and first-year player Marc Sheather.

The VFL has a rule in place that allows for players to be loaned between clubs to allow a full team of 22 to be selected in exceptional circumstances.

The match will be broadcast live on the GIANTS' Youtube channel, with the GIANTS to also provide quarter by quarter score updates on Twitter.

The GIANTS take on Brisbane before the AFL side’s match against Essendon at Metricon Stadium on Sunday at 6:10pm.
