Explosive forward Jeremy Cameron is a "freak" and constantly blows away his teammates, says Greater Western Sydney skipper Callan Ward.

Cameron, 21, battled injury and constant media attention about his contract status in 2014, but still managed to lead the club's goalkicking despite a perforated eardrum and constant ankle issues.

His output of just 29 goals from 14 games was way down on his breakout 2013 where he was named All Australian, kicked 62 goals and won the GIANTS' best and fairest.

Judging from his efforts in the NAB Challenge, Cameron appears to be fit and firing again and Ward believes the talented spearhead will return to his devastating best in 2015.

"He's a freak, Jez Cameron. Even at training he'll have 20 shots and kick 20 goals in a row," Ward told AFL.com.au..

"I think if there was one guy I had to choose to sign up before anyone else it would be him."

Speculation surrounding Cameron's future ended when he signed a new deal with the club earlier this month, and Ward is hopeful the key forward can inspire a host of GIANTS to re-sign with the club

"It gives me great confidence that we're on the right track, and I think other young guys who haven't signed will look at that and it might inspire them to sign. So hopefully they can see the faith that guys like Jez have seen in the footy club, and follow suit."

"It's just a really good place to be around. We've got a great footy club, the coaching group have been terrific, Leon's been terrific, and at the end of the day, I'm hopeful that those guys can take great confidence in that."

"I think at the end of the day everyone wants to enjoy their footy, and if we can win games that's the best way to do that. Hopefully we can win games early and guys realise that this club is the place to be."
