Our Season Summary looks back at how each GIANTS player fared during the 2015 AFL season.
Name: Jed Lamb
Number: 11
2015 Games: 2 AFL/ 17 NEAFL
NEAFL Fantasy Average: 90
Awards: Named in NEAFL Team of the Year
Background: Jed Lamb was drafted by the Sydney Swans with Pick 21 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft before joining the GIANTS at the end of the 2013 season.
Best Game: Round 13 v Swans Reserves - 24 touches, 8 goals and 10 marks.
Summary: Unfortunately a strong year in the NEAFL didn’t lead to more AFL games for Jed Lamb who only managed two senior matches this season. Lamb was consistently dangerous in attack for the UWS GIANTS, kicking 43 goals in 17 games. The 23-year-old’s biggest haul came against his old side Swans Reserves where he kicked eight goals. The GIANTS re-called Lamb against Geelong and Fremantle but he struggled to make an impact at the top level.
Pat On The Back: Lamb battled with goal accuracy in the early stages of the season but extra work at training turned that around in the back-half of the year.
What They Said: “Jed has worked really hard on his goal-kicking and leading patterns which is starting to show” - NEAFL Coach Brett Hand.
Look Ahead: After another season playing mostly in the reserves, Lamb will be looking for more senior exposure in 2016.
