Emerging young midfielder Xavier O’Halloran has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with the GIANTS.
The 20-year-old hard-running midfielder made his AFL debut in round 10 this season after an injury-interrupted 2019 following his selection at pick 22 in the 2018 national draft.
The popular team member said he’s looking forward to his future in orange and charcoal.
“I love the club and it’s a really special group to be part of,” O’Halloran said.
“I’ve had a taste of AFL footy this season and I’m really determined to cement a spot in the GIANTS line-up in 2021.
“I’m really excited to put my best foot forward and help the GIANTS get to where we want to go.”
GIANTS General Manager of Football Jason McCartney is excited for what O’Halloran can produce over the coming seasons.
“X is a unique individual and a lively part of our playing group on and off the field,” McCartney said.
“After a tough first 12 months, he’s really developed his football this season in what’s been a unique year for those not selected in the AFL side every week.
“His leadership and football skills will continue to grow and we’re excited for his future.”
